N'compass and Sun Microsystems Partner on Airline Information Technology Company's Virtualization Project
August 6, 2008, Minneapolis, MN — N'compass Solutions, Inc., a technology solutions company delivering The Power of Strategic IT and Sun Microsystems partner on a data center project for Navitaire, a wholly owned Accenture subsidiary who develops and hosts reservation, operations and cargo technology solutions for over 85 airlines worldwide.
N'compass first signed on with the Sun Partner Advantage Program in 2005. The latest project joins the two companies in their mutual desire to deliver high quality solutions to their clients.
Navitaire's relationship with N'compass started with a data center "health check up." Taking into consideration Navitaire's global financial impact within the airline industry such as their Open Skies reservation system booking more than $11.6 billion in travel over the Internet in 2006, the check up prompted Navitaire to make strategic moves designed to stay ahead of their data center needs. In the end, this discovery justified a redesigned, virtualization model data center. Sun servers were recommended for the project.
